Coaxial cable is operating in the frequency band of 100kHz-500MHz which is higher than a twisted pair and used to support cable TV channels. The structure of a coaxial cable is shown in the figure. The outer part is a plastic cover. The outer conductor is separated from the inner conductor. The outer conductor can protect against interferences from external noise sources. Therefore, the coaxial cable is better than the twisted pair in transmission performance.
