  • Channel
    • communication channel, media (air, wire line) to connect between a transmitter and a receiver
  • Noise
    • factors disturbing communications
Now, let us go to the second topic of this lecture, which is representation of a signal. First, we are going to look at Shannon’s communication model. Shannon contributed to information theory, which provides the basis for channel encoding. The communication model consists of input and output information, transmitter and receiver, channel, and noise source. The transmitter, channel and receiver are components of a telecommunication system. Please click each tab. Information is any meaningful contents. Transmitter-receiver is equipment or media used to represent information. Channel is communication channel, media (air, wire line) to connect between a transmitter and a receiver. Noise is factors disturbing communications.
