Concept of telecommunications

      • To transmit or exchange one’s own information to or with others
    • Telecommunication media
      • a language, gesture, instrument (ex. drum, trumpet), or any medium including materials or resources such as a pipe, a signal fire, a post horse, etc.
        • telegraph, telephone, electronic mail, video communications, ubiquitous (seeming to be everywhere or in several places at the same time)

The first topic of this lecture is about concept and history of telecommunications. First of all, we will go over the concept of telecommunications. Telecommunications involves the transmitting or exchange of one’s own information to or with other people.

To achieve this, telecommunication media is needed, which can be categorized as non-electronic or electronic media. Non-electronic media consists of a language, a gesture, an instrument such as a drum, a trumpet, or a medium or resource including a pipe, a signal fire, a post horse, etc. Electronic media include telegraph, telephone, electronic mail, video communications, and are ubiquitous (seeming to be everywhere or in several places at the same time).
